Malawi Food - Potato Farming

Malawi is a poverty stricken African country. By growing their own potatoes, a staple Malawi food, they can feed hundreds of Malawi people.

I am teaching the church that lets learn to plant something when we are blessed with something, so i am telling them that we need to multiply whatever comes into our hands, I am discouraging always subtracting with adding, so I am encouraging the church to start doing whatever they can according to what they have.

This update from March 23 has just arrived.

Rev Mark & Kari,
We are grateful that the Lord answered our prayers for the rains. It has been raining all this time even as we are at the end of the rains. Pastor Isaac went and visited the garden, he was amazed that we are having the best field and people are amazed how the potatoes are growing! I will go to take a picture before harvesting, and during harvesting we will take more pictures.

The church that we are using to plant the potatoes said that some fertilizer remained and they will cultivate another small field and plant other potatoes, so this will be ongoing. we are planning that sooner we harvest we will sell and buy seeds, fertilizer and continue like that.

We have written a project proposal for pig farming, so would i send it to you, that as you meet different men of God you may present to them, indeed i am very busy teaching people that we should be doing something, so indeed what we are looking for is having something to start with, i hope the brothers and sisters in Malawi will indeed benefit and hope in future many people will not be poor, so please keep on praying for us.--Harvey and Ethel Chabinga
